That’s right, we just dropped 8 vlogs. Are we totally caught up? No. Are we getting there? YES! Follow along with your photo + video elopement, wedding, and birth team.
It’s time to go way back– PRE-COVID!– to dive right back into camper renovations. If you’re new around here, we purchased a 1999 Jayco travel trailer to call home. This meant lots of renovations, learning, and bumps along the way.
To start, we ripped out the floor, the bunks, and started to tackle water damage. The water damage was way worse than we thought. We were hoping for easy repairs in two spots in the ceiling, but we ended up finding damage in the walls in multiple areas as well. This was a huge headache, and to be honest, sometimes we felt a little defeated.
However, we learned how to replace walls and floors, install insulation, and work together in new ways. Fast forward to today to our vlog drop (which technically was recorded at the beginning of last year).
Then things took an unexpected turn. We thought we were out of the woods with water damage, but ended up spending more time on renovations than we bargained for.
Just like that we decided to change our trajectory. Michael and I were eager to hit the road and spend more time adventuring and growing our business. We chose a new home to start fresh and venture forward with a more reliable foundation.
If you have been following our vlogs, it will come as no surprise that I was eager to decorate and make our space feel more like us. I quickly got started planning colors, vibes, and ways to put our personality into our home.
These next vlogs were recorded in March of 2020. That’s right, right at the start of Covid hitting the United States. We hunkered down not really knowing what to expect out of the next few weeks. Tekka had no problem putting our travel plans on halt because she had a great view of the ducks and plenty of sunshine to soak in. It is wild to watch vlog 12 and see how different everything was pre-covid.
We slowly started to get settled into our space and make small changes. Then, before too long, we hit the road!
The month of May brought an awesome adventure on a sailboat. We were super stoked to start out our road trip on the coast doing exactly what we love. However, it definitely wasn’t all sunshine and easy climbs. We hit road bumps immediately, and they continued for quite a while. We are dropping our vlogs weekly now, so check back next Thursday to see our Outer Banks adventure!

Road life has enough daily challenges on its own without having to worry about your camper falling apart! We live full-time in our campervan conversion. Maybe we’ll see you out on the road one day.
