You can definitely pick one! Although we work great as a team, you can still hire us separately! You can hire our associates for separate services as well.
Great question! We work well with other vendors and will be happy to collaborate with them to achieve the vision of your day. We have spent a lot of time working out the kinks to be sure that we can capture your day smoothly as a team, but we are more than happy to work with whatever artists you choose!
However, if you hire us for a specific service, we should be the only vendors at your event providing that service. For example, if you hired us for photography, we need to be the only professional photographer working at your wedding or elopement.
We charge little to no travel fees for weddings in Colorado, North Carolina, and northern Illinois. We have specific home bases in these areas, and will travel for free for 150 miles or 3 hours (whichever comes first) from our home bases. Beyond that, we charge the standard federal travel rate of 58 cents per mile.
We also live on the road full time. If you catch us along the way, there are no travel fees. Check out our travel schedule here.
For other domestic and international events, our travel is itemized. We do not have a set travel rate because we believe that by breaking down our travel, we can save our clients money. Travel fees for this type of event could include lodging, transportation, permits, and other fees specifically associated with your event. We are budget friendly travelers-- we love hostels, take public transportation, and have no problem taking that late flight becuase it is cheaper.
We don't really believe in bad weather. We will make sure you are safe, and we will still have an awesome adventure! If you have checked out our travel map, you might notice that we are moving pretty quickly through the U.S. and Canada. Because of this, we can't really "come back next week" when the sun is shining. We won't have you out in dangerous conditions like avalanches, mudslides, or lightning-- but we aren't afraid of a little snow or rain. We acutally love what the rain does to the colors in a landscape! If it does get dangerous, we will reschedule.
You sure do. You have the ability to print professionally with us, and we can guarantee quality prints. We offer metal wall art, wood prints, traditional prints, albums, magnets, and even Christmas ornaments. That said, you can totally print yourself and we will help you along the way.
This is a great question! We do not release any unedited content. We work very hard to establish our brand and produce content that represents our artistry. We will spend hours deciding what images to return and what content to include in your videos, and even more hours upon hours editing. We will ensure that your final content tells the story of your day and speaks to your love journey.
Great question! We are traveling all over the U.S. and Canada in 2020, but we will adventure ANYWHERE. We have photographed worldwide, and plan to continue doing so. Just reach out, and we will head your way! You can check out our current travel schedule here.
No worries! We will still come to you! We LOVE to travel, and capture elopements, weddings, births, and family sessions all over the globe. Reach out and we will give you a travel quote.
Overall, I would say that Michael and I are addicted to fun, and we do what we can to bring that to a session. You will be laughing, and even crying. Our sessions are emotion and movement based. That means that you won't do a lot of "stand here and smile". You will have an experience with one another. We specialize in capturing raw emotion, and we will prompt you to bring out that emotion during your session. It is an awesome journey, trust us.
The amount of photos you will receive depends greatly on your day. For a typical wedding or elopement, you can expect 70-100 digital images/hour. However, if your event has an unexpected occurrence that would hinder our ability to photograph, this number could change. Either way, we will do everything we can to capture and tell the story of your day!
Video footage varies between our packages. We offer shorter highlights and longer wedding films, and your package is completely up to you!
A traditional elopement is typically two hours, and the location is easily accessible for all friends and family members.
Adventure elopements involve remote locations, and activities like backpacking, camping, or climbing. They are more extreme and tend to be 5-8 hours.
What we craft for your day is totally up to you! Our adventure elopements are typically 5-8 hours. This includes hiking, any necessary travel during your elopement, the ceremony + events, and your adventure session. Your adventure elopement can also include an overnight camping trip, full backpacking trips, snorkeling adventures, you name it!
The amount of hiking we do for an adventure elopement is totally up to you. We will provide location suggestions based on what you are up for. We will usually hike at least a few miles, but we also have plenty of "easy to get to" locations in case you have guests who need something a little easier. After your ceremony, we can venture off to a different epic location for your adventure session.
OF COURSE! This is YOUR day. If you have loved ones that you want surrounding you, bring them! The more the merrier.
Yes, PLEASE DO. We love animals, and if your elopement is a few days long, we might bring our dog too (as long as your dog is cool with it). It's important to remember that not all national parks allow dogs on their trails, and we will respect the laws and rules of whatever space we are in. If your pup is allowed, bring them!

You can do WHATEVER you want! We also love the water... and the forest, and the desert, and basically anywhere outside. We shoot in the mountains very frequently, but we go wherever the wind blows us. In 2021 we will even offer scuba elopements!
We don't have a set travel rate. We believe that by itemizing our travel, we can save our clients money. We are budget friendly travelers. We love hostels, take public transportation (because who wants to drive on the other side of the road anyway), and don't mind taking that late flight because it is cheaper. No worries! We get it that this isn't everyone's cup of tea. If you plan on eloping at a courthouse or somewhere where you can make it from start to finish in two hours, you are looking for a traditional elopement. You can find them here.
Right on! We have plenty of wedding packages both with us, or with our associates. You can check out wedding photography + videography here.
Honey, yes. This might sound crazy, but for the most part I actually can! I have photographed mamas who are more private, which means they prefer that I do not see their genitals and would like me to stay above their shoulders. I can do this very effectively and still capture your entire birth story. If you are planning on skin-on-skin immediately after delivery, it would be near impossible for me to not see your breasts, but I am able to fully capture a birth without actually looking at or capturing a vagina.
This is why I have such an extensive on-call period, and why I have back up associate photographers. I take all of the precautions that I can to ensure that I will not miss your delivery. All of that said, the speed of your delivery is not exactly something that anyone can control. There is always a chance that I could miss your birth, in which case everything except your retainer would be refunded. However, we will stay in constant, detailed communication once you go into labor to do our best to make sure this doesn't happen.
If you have an emergency c-section and the hospital allows me in the operating room, I am more than happy to capture it. However, more often than not hospitals will not allow more than one additional person in the operating room with the mother. I will still capture labor up until they take you to the operating room, and I will capture the moments after your baby is born. C-sections do not warrant any sort of refund.
Yes I am. I have seen just about everything by now. I have seen every graphic and messy occurrence that comes with delivery. There is nothing that makes me uncomfortable, and I love the emotion of a raw birth.
Yes I do! I offer flexible payment plans, and I also have options where friends and family can pitch in as a part of your baby registry.
I have an extreme respect for my clients. This means that you get a say in what your photos are used for.
Typically I will keep graphic images in a locked gallery, and the password is only shared with potential clients. Images that are more modest may be shared on social media, our website, or for advertisement purposes. However, if this is not okay with you just let me know! I will always respect you and your wishes.
I do not bring any large lighting equipment with me to a birth. I do all that I can to not disrupt your natural birthing process, and if you are in a hospital I will be sure to stay out of the way of delivery room staff. I always have a flash with me for unexpected circumstances (if the power were to go out, if you were to deliver outside, etc.), but I have never used it for a birth.
All of that said, if a room is dark, it will significantly impact the quality of your images. I suggest turning the lights up and opening the blinds on the windows. However, the lighting in your room is UP TO YOU. We will discuss lighting impact beforehand, but if you are in labor and you are hating those lights, we will definitely turn them down.
The reality is that this could happen unexpectedly. We will discuss beforehand if you want me to continue to capture these moments or if you would prefer that I step out. I am comfortable with whatever you choose, and I will release these specific photos to you whenever you are ready to have them.
I photograph newborns within seven days of birth. If you miss this window, don't worry! I will still work with you. However, the first week is perfect for babies because they sleep really well, and they are still tiny and flexible.
We will not actually schedule your session until you have recovered from delivery, but we will reserve a "rough time frame".
I am very flexible with the duration of my newborn sessions. I work on "baby time", which means if your newborn needs to be changed, needs to stop to feed, or just needs some cuddles, that is totally fine! My average posed newborn sessions are two hours, and average lifestyle sessions are one hour.
The content of your newborn session is up to you. I typically photograph a portion of posed newborn content, followed by a portion of lifestyle content. This can include siblings, grandparents, and the family pets!
I have worked years to educate myself on the proper ways to photograph newborn babies and keep them safe. This includes wrapping and posing methods. I will always make sure to use "hands on" methods to ensure that you baby is safe and their head is stable. We will also discuss any injuries or circumstances to look out for like hip or shoulder injuries from birth, healing circumcisions, etc.
I have numerous wraps, baskets, blankets, and crochet outfits for your session. I have everything that we need to capture your cute little newborn. However, if you have any specific outfits, props, or heirlooms, we can use them!
You sure do. You have the ability to print professionally with us, and we can guarantee quality prints. We offer metal wall art, wood prints, traditional prints, albums, magnets, and even Christmas ornaments. That said, you can totally print yourself and we will help you along the way.
I typically photograph in home. This is often very easy for recovering mamas, and also is convenient for feeding and changing. I will bring everything to you to have a full and successful session. If weather conditions are favorable, we can also take our session outdoors.
I also have studio space available for an hourly rental fee.
I am extremely flexible when it comes to session location. I frequently photograph in home, at local parks, or at state or national parks. I also have studio space available for an additional fee.
Any permits required for your session will be charged to the client.
Typically the only people who should be present at your session are the ones being photographed. This allows for a smooth session, and takes away from the idea of having an audience.
If you have small children or pets that will not be in all of your photos, bringing along a friend or family member is super helpful!
Yes, PLEASE DO. We love animals! It's important to remember that not all national parks allow dogs on their trails, and we will respect the laws and rules of whatever space we are in. If your pup is allowed, bring them!
If we are able to reschedule we will! However, if you are down for it, we will still have your session.

I often photograph maternity at 30 weeks, but I am flexible! 30 weeks gives a good size baby bump, but you are still comfortable. I have photographed all the way up to the day before delivery.
Fun fact, we live on the road! Because of this, we have very limited storage space. I do not keep a client closet, but I have plenty of budget-friendly clothing recommendations. I also have a lot of rental resources for maternity and boudoir attire.
You sure do. You have the ability to print professionally with us, and we can guarantee quality prints. We offer metal wall art, wood prints, traditional prints, albums, magnets, and even Christmas ornaments. That said, you can totally print yourself and we will help you along the way.
