you took the leap and decided to elope- right on! now it’s time to create the best day ever.

You did it. You made the bold, exciting, untraditional choice to elope and have a day that is truly focused on the two of you! This is awesome! Maybe you knew from the beginning that an elopement was your style, or maybe you were a little nervous making this decision. Either way, you’re here and ready to create an AWESOME day. The great thing about elopements is that you can do whatever the heck you want and pack your day with adventure elopement activities. Sleep in or stay up late, fill your day with high energy activities, luxury activities, or a combinations of the two– the choice is up to you! It’s YOUR day with no expectations and no restrictions (well, sort of, we still have to follow the law).

why you should add activities to your day (and why you should elope all day long)

Your day should be uniquely you. That means everything that you include in your day should be intentionally hand picked to tell your love story. If it’s something you and your partner connect on, include it. Maybe there’s something that holds meaning to your relationship, include it. If it’s something that just plain brings you heaps of joy, include it!! Some people only want a short, sweet, two hour elopement. There is nothing wrong with that. However, I urge you to really digest the fact that elopements are just as special, just as important, and deserve just as much attention as traditional weddings. You aren’t having “less” of a day because you are eloping. You are having a well thought out day that screams, “this is how we love each other”. You’re committing yourself to another person. This is all really important, so celebrate all day long!

Adding activities allows you to keep the stoke level high all day and to really create an elopement experience. There is no requirement to do anything crazy like base jumping (unless you want to), but we encourage you to keep intentionality all day long, and to hand craft a day that will allow you to stay fully engulfed in your love story.

yes, you really can do anything you want

Well, almost anything. This is YOUR day. That means you can get as adventurous or as calm as you want. If you want to chill in a hammock all afternoon and then do some yoga on a SUP before your sunset ceremony by the lake, that’s totally cool. If you want to backpack in and camp overnight, go rock climbing in the morning, and then hike to a peak for your sunset ceremony, that’s cool too! The great thing is that it’s totally up to you. You can paint in the park or you can ride a helicopter over glaciers. There is no requirement for level of activity or what you include when planning activities for your adventure elopement.

Since it’s your day, you can also choose to elope in a location because you want to experience a specific activity, like rock climbing in Yosemite (check out permit info here) or chasing waterfalls in Iceland. If there is somewhere you have always wanted to go, your elopement day is a great day to check it off the bucketlist.

We do have to follow local laws and regulations, but that’s all good because if you’re here, that means you also like to respect the spaces you are in. The purpose of including activities in your day is to elevate your love and the way you tell your love story. We don’t suggest activities to help you “look cool”, we suggest activities to help you have a day that you can look back on and say, “that was so incredibly epic, and it was so us”.

yes, you can still do activities even if you’re not “adventurous”

Adventure is for everyone. That means we happily welcome everyone regardless of phsyical, developmental, or intellectual ability. Nature is beautiful, and it’s for everyone. If you’re not much of a hiker, we know some great views that are easy to access without hiking. You can also hang out at a cabin all day and soak up the views from the back yard, and that’s still an epic day! If you need an adapted activity, we have great vendors in our circle that cater to adaptive adventures.

Before becoming an elopement photographer, I worked for years with kids who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. I am extremely passionate about making the outdoors accessible to everyone and making sure everyone is included. No matter your situation, we can help you have an epic day.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to! We are a photo, video, and planning team – including activities for your adventure elopement. That means you can coordinate your vendors if you want to, or we will do all of the busy work so you can focus on getting excited for your day! You can have as much or as little control as you want over all of the details. We are your local experts, which means we have a great list of vendors for every activity or detail you might need when creating an epic elopement. This is how your vision comes to life.

We can also coordinate with all of your vendors to help get on the same page with your timeline, vibe, and values of your day. If your day has a few more moving parts (like a sunset reception for 20 overlooking stunning mountain views), that’s when we will connect you with one of our preferred coordinators so they can get that squared away while we are on our adventure together.
