This Utah slot canyon is an awesome spot for an adventure elopement, especially if you want the vibe of Antelope Canyon without all of the people. This hike is in southern Utah (meaning you could extend your adventure with a Zion National Park elopement or an Arizona adventure session), and is just under 4 miles round trip. Technically it is a moderate rating, but Michael and I would rate this closer to easy. We hiked on a Saturday afternoon and although there were people on the trail, there weren’t anywhere near as many as you would find on the more popular trails of the national parks. Another bonus: this trail requires a $6 parking fee, that’s it. Oh, and the doggos are allowed!!
For the most part, the hike was relatively flat. There was one ladder to climb, but otherwise the trail was easy. We definitely recommend sunscreen, especially because the first part of the trail is exposed. As always, please remember to Leave No Trace when you are out exploring! This trail can also be extended into other slot canyons for a multiday backpacking trip. Adventure, anyone?
This slot canyon opens up to a confluence between multiple canyons with massive rock walls. Did I already say this is a great location for an elopement? Because it is! You can bring along family or friends if you wanted, and there is plenty of space for a picnic reception. After, you could keep the adventure rolling by continuing on to the other slot canyons for a backpacking trip!
This area is not totally secluded. You can check how many people were there on a Saturday afternoon in the pictures directly below (but you may have to squint– the canyon walls are super tall!). There is definitely way less of a crowd than you would have on the more popular trails. We also love the variety of texture (and petroglyphs) in all of the canyon walls, but we’ll get into that next!
I was obsessed with the changes in texture as we hiked through this canyon. Not only was it filled with winding rock formations and mineral buildup, but the confluence of the canyons also had well preserved petroglyphs! All of this texture would provide epic backdrops for portraits in such a short, accessible hike.
There is something so incredible about portraits in a slot canyon. I love how the light shines in through the upper cracks and illuminates all of the canyon walls. The smooth, winding, water-carved rock is an epic backdrop for adventure elopement photos with your loved one. If this gets you as pumped up as it does us, let’s plan your Utah slot canyon elopement.
We love adventure, and would be super stoked to be your Utah hiking elopement photography and videography team.

We were just in a few of the slot canyons!! So fun to see this! Love the images and content! Such a beautiful world. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!!
Looks like a great alternative four couples to enjoy slot canyons since Antelope Canyon is closed currently (April 2021).
Loved the color contrast of “teal and orange” in your art!
You and Michael seem like a great Utah hiking elopement photographer videographer team.
Karly and I do the same but all over the country and world, maybe we’ll run(hike) into each other someday.
Keep doing and creating all the beautiful things, the world loves it. 🙏
